What are Mini Skips?

Mini Skips are small just Marrell skip bins that usually between 2.0m³  to 4.0m³ (cubic meters) in volume. The term mini-skip was coined as a marketing description for small metal bins delivered on a small truck (as shown above) that has Marrell lifting gear on the back of it.  The Marrell lifting equipment being the hydraulic arms on the back of the truck that has chains attached, so that they can lift bins on and off the back of the truck.  The hydraulic Marrell lifting equipment can usually between lift 3 tor 6 tonnes on the smaller trucks.

What are the Sizes of Bins that are considered Mini Skips?

There isn't really any hard and fast rules about what a mini-skip is or what size of shape it is. In general mini skips are between 2.0m³ (Cubic meters) and 4.0m³ (although you should be careful because that are bins smaller than 2.0m³ that are callled mini-skips to mask that they are small. There is not really a standard design for skip bins or mini skips because thay are manufactured by lots of different companies each with their own ideas about what makes a good bin and what design features are important. If you search hard enough you will be able to find mini skips that are 1.8m³, 2.0m³, 2.5m³, 3.0m³, 3.5m³ and 6.0m³. You will also find some that are bigger.
